Position Purpose:

The individual in this role provides product technology and process-engineering assistance and supports the implementation of new products at Lindt USA. This person provides technological assistance, guidance and troubleshooting to the New Product Development and Manufacturing Process and works cross functional including but not limited to Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Marketing. This position is responsible to develop critical operating parameters for new and improved processes and formulas to ensure the products are manufactured complying with the L&S high quality standards and approved specifications. The person in this role is also responsible to assist in improvement activities related to chocolate technology and production processes.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Product & Process Development

  • Lead scale-up activities, trials, and first production runs to ensure successful product launches and process feasibility.
  • Optimize process parameters to enhance product quality, throughput, and profitability using statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner and serve as a technical resource across departments including Operations, QA, Marketing, and Engineering.
  • Commission new equipment, production lines, and processes to meet final product quality requirements and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Documentation & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain process documentation and policies to ensure consistent product quality and reproducibility.
  • Monitor recipe adherence for both new and existing products to ensure compliance with quality standards, cost targets, and FDA regulations.
  • Apply scientific methodology, root cause analysis, and statistical tools to support sustainable process and product improvements.
  • Utilize and promote Lean Manufacturing tools and processes (LPW) to drive operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Work independently with minimal guidance to achieve company objectives and support cross-functional projects.
  • Train and educate colleagues to build technological expertise across departments.
  • Collaborate with global Lindt teams and external organizations to identify and implement best-in-class processes and technologies.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies through research, professional development, and industry engagement to support innovation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong technical expertise in food processing, with specific understanding of chocolate manufacturing (Bean to Bar).
  • Proficient in quality management systems and Lean Manufacturing principles; strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey complex ideas across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized and adaptable in fast-paced environments; proficient in MS Office and other relevant computer applications.

Education:

  • 3–5 years of experience in the food industry or related fields, with 2+ years specifically in the chocolate industry.
  • Proven expertise in processing technology, including complex products and machinery used in food manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience in product development, from concept to commercialization.
  • Preferred: Background in premium consumer goods and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Requirements:

  • The role is classified essential on site.
  • It is required flexibility on the three shifts to accommodate trials and first productions.

Lindt USA’s salary range reflects market rates based on our size, revenue, and location. Starting pay is determined using a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience as well as market conditions. A bonus and/or long-term incentive may be included as part of this compensation package.
